I know I should only apply if I'm 100% set on JHU but honestly I don't think I'll ever be 100% set on any college. JHU is my number one right now but it's still all tentative. I want to be an optometrist but like I said... still very tentative so I'm probably going to apply as undecided. Would I get in Regular decision or would it be smart to go with ED?

lots more EC but I don't really want to put them all down

Another question for anyone who goes to JHU or knows Baltimore... how's the fun? I don't mean like drinking kind of fun but my brother goes to UMich and it just seems like a super fun, school-spirit-y (obviously since Ann Arbor is a college town) place. I want that but JHU seems so studious! That's another one of the drawbacks (it's stupid, I know, but still) I've been to inner harbor and it's pretty nice, just kind of small.

It’s no Michigan but the winter and weather in general is milder. Because of the number of serious research oriented students, high concentration of premeds, the atmosphere is more intense. Nice campus, and lots of amenities, but you do get a lot of serious studying, a lot of kids that are intense. . They have a great swim team so you might want to see how your times are with what their swimmers are doing. Like one of the top D-3 swim teams in the NCAA, so it’s competitive.

What do you think is your subject of study? If not premed or natural sciences, you have a good chance ED and fair chance even RD.

Thank you so much! This definitely helped with the whole ED vs RD issue. I’m definitely going to swim club since I’m not up to par with JHU’s times, but I do love swimming and want to continue for as long as I possibly can. I’ll probably go with bio as a course of study but I would like to get a feel for things my first year, which is why I’ll probably apply undecided.

Since you want to study bio, JHU is a great school to go to.

I don’t go to JHU or anything, but I’ve been to Baltimore, so I’ll help you out.

First off, the Inner Harbor is the nicest part of Baltimore and that’s where you should go if you want to have fun. JHU doesn’t have the sports teams of UMich, but Baltimore has pro sports team, and Baltimore has a lot of pride in its teams (I hope you don’t root for any of Baltimore’s rivals). Baseball would probably fit best into your budget as a college student, and Camden Yards is pretty easy to get to.

And if you get bored with Baltimore, you can always take a train or bus to DC which is pretty close and an easy day trip. DC has the Smithsonian, great shopping, lots to do, and nice views. If you like museums and things, DC is good place to spend the day.

Anyway, I live a pretty similar distance from both DC and Baltimore, and I have to say I prefer going to DC because there’s more to do. However, I’ll direct you to the Baltimore Sun’s list of 100 reasons that Baltimore is better than DC to help you out because you’ll be spending most of your time in Baltimore if you end up at JHU.

Thanks so much everyone!! After some deliberation… I always come back to JHU (: JHU ED it is! Hope I can become a blue jay!!
