Hi! I applied to Colgate as well.
I’m a Pakistani national, and well, we don’t have GPAs in our high schools.
But anyway, I have a 2160 on my SAT 1
CR: 630
Writing: 750
Maths: 780
I come from a middle class family and applied for full aid, or atleast 80-90%.
I’m probably the only applicant from my city, if not my country.
I’m super nervous as well, because:
A) I feel like I’ll get a rejection
B) Even if I do manage to get in, if I don’t get aid, I won’t be able to attend
ECs:
2 time all Pakistan General Knowledge winner (National level science competition)
I participate in a number of regional and national level science competitions
Occasionally debate
Used to play on the school soccer team as a goal keeper
Play hockey in my free time (pretty rare over here)
Theatre and drama as well
I’m sort of multi-lingual (I’m proficient in Urdu and English, as well as Punajbi, and can converse in French)
That’s pretty much all I can remember at this time. Any idea what my chances are?
I’m waiting anxiously too. I am from China but currently in a U.S. high school. Here are my SAT scores:
SATs- 2150 (630 cr, 760 m, 760 w) and SAT II of 740 on Chemistry and 800 on Math II.
Best luck to everyone who applied to Colgate!
Good luck to you too! By the way, does anyone know when the results will be announced?
Opened my portal to the following message this morning:
“Colgate’s Office of Admission has appreciated the contact we have had with you through your college search. We understand that you are eager to learn the outcome of your application. The application review phase is now complete. We plan to communicate our admission decisions within the next week. We do not display decisions on the portal and we do not give out decisions over the phone. We thank you again for your interest in Colgate and give you our best wishes for your college career.”
Looks like we will all be hearing quite soon!
I have the same message displayed on my portal. The Colgate website, under the ‘Admission & Aid’ tab, says:
“Decisions will be sent on Friday, December 11. Applicants with domestic addresses will have their decisions sent via U.S. postal mail or a courier delivery service. Applicants with non-U.S. mailing addresses will have their decisions sent via a global courier delivery service or e-mail.”
My best guess is that we should know by Saturday the 12th, or Monday the 14th. Who knows, it could be earlier. Best of luck to you all.
Hey Guys,
Never been so nervous for the mail man to come in my life! What do you think the chances of getting my decision on Saturday would be given that I’m from CT, about four hours away from Colgate? Best of luck to you all!
I’m feeling the nerves too! It’s definitely possible that it could arrive by Saturday, but I’m thinking it’s probably more likely for a Monday arrival. Try having some fun to take your mind off the nerves. We’ll know very soon! Best of luck.
hey guys, I’m an American citizen (so domestic applicant) but I live internationally–does anyone know whether rejections are sent by email to international applicants?? This is what i’ve heard! ahh, so nervous!! Good luck to everyone!!
From looking at Colgate ED threads from previous years, it seems that international students receive emails if rejected. This could be totally wrong, however. Best of luck!
Ok thanks! Have any internationals heard back yet?? Todays the day–9 am in New York right now ahhhh!
@wookie97 have you heard anything back yet? (I’m an international applicant too)
@Sophiee321 not yet. I’ve been refreshing my email for about 4 hours now. I guess we’ll get it by 5pm (NY time), which is 3am in pakistan
Anyone hear anything yet?
Who receive the e-mail?
