I submitted my application on October 31st and haven’t heard anything.
I completed my application on November 18th and received my letter today on December 1st! It was postmarked the 29th.
Cassiedawn you must mean October 18th?
@alli3fire No, I submitted my application on the due date, November 15th, and my Window to Wake said it was completed three days later.
So, you received your acceptance letter less than 2 weeks after you completed your application? Wow! Love to hear your stats and where you live!! Congrats!
@Cassiedawn99 Congratulations! That was fast. Are you an athlete or did you parents attend Wake? Thanks for posting!
Thanks guys! I also was surprised I heard back so fast.
I’m not an athlete, and I’m a first generation college student from West Virginia. GPA is 4.0 UW, and I wasn’t able to take any APs because my school doesn’t offer them; though, I do take honors classes and have taken a college class at my local community college. I did not send my ACT/SAT scores. I did well with my interview and showed I am heavily involved with writing and literature extracurricurals (member of local writers group, editor of school paper, founded book club, won creative writing contests, etc). I think that helped because I want to major in English
Good luck to all of you!!
*extracurriculars
@Cassiedawn99 Good for you! I am sure you’ll do great at Wake and it sounds like English is the right major for you.
Our daughter got her acceptance today! Letter was dated November 29th. Her file was complete on November 15th.
@kschmidt23 Wow, lots of you are hearing back very quickly! Do you mind sharing your daughter’s stats? Also, what state do you live in? Congratulations!!! It must be such a relief for your whole family!!
I got my acceptance on November 29, 2016, and it was dated the same day due to my residence being in Winston Salem. My file was complete on November 13, 2016. I was ranked 29 in my class of 370 with a gpa of 4.87, my sat was a 1470 and writing score of 18. Any other stats you wish to hear I am likely willing to share so ask away. Gooooo Deacs
Do merit scholarships go out as the same time as acceptance letters? If you get an acceptance letter and there is no mention of merit money, does that mean you won’t be offered anything? I guess, my question is, how free is WF with their merit dollars? Does it just go to the tippy top admits?
The deadline to be considered for the top merit scholarships was to apply by December 1. ED & RD applicants (who applied by Dec. 1) will be considered together. Here’s a link:
I got deferred to RD, didn’t send in test scores-- we’ll see how it goes, but think I may end up going somewhere else at this point. Still hopeful though.
When did you submit your application and when did you find out about being deferred?
@hopefulwfu44 When was your file complete?
So when you Window to Wake says application is complete. Does that mean that the admissions office has reached a decision?
@buster48 No, it means that your file is complete and they have everything they need to make their decision. Just have to wait, which is hard! There will be nothing on Window to Wake to show they made a decision.
Thank you!!! @FabulousWu
