Early decision decision date

The suspense is killing us - I've been haunting the CC Oberlin threads and the Oberlin blog site as if I'm reading tea leaves. Any idea about how many applications were received? How the review process is going? When letters might be mailed?

Haha, I’m freaking out too! One more week…

This answered (and alleviated) many of the questions and concerns I had

Best of luck to you both

Also, there’s a new blog post that was written yesterday by a first year Obie about her “one year anniversary of the beginning of the week my anxiety about college went into overdrive.” I highly suggest reading it: [“We Are All Going to Survive This”](<a href=“http://blogs.oberlin.edu/applying/applying/we_are_all_goin.shtml]"We”>http://blogs.oberlin.edu/applying/applying/we_are_all_goin.shtml)

ED decision letters are being mailed today.

Elizabeth Houston,
Do you know if email notifications for internationals will be sent out today as well?
Thank you

International emails are going out this afternoon.

If they were mailed yesterday, we probably won’t get anything today. We were thinking today was the notification day. Oh no, more waiting for me and my daughter. :)

This is more stressful than when I was waiting for my acceptance letters. I got into every college I applied to, but I think things are much tougher now than they were back then. So many great students.

Students accepted for the Class of 2016 are cordially invited to join the Oberlin 2016 Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/Oberlin2016</a> . Meet each other! Ask questions of current students! Celebrate! Post a photo of your reaction!

And to those who don’t get in: we hope your disappointment isn’t too painful and passes quickly, and we’re sure you can find another school at which you will thrive. There are some wise words for you at the end of this blog post: [Oberlin Blogs | Blog Entry: “It was twenty years ago today…”](http://blogs.oberlin.edu/applying/applying/it_was_twenty_y.shtml) .

Accepted! I look forward to getting to know the rest of the Class of 2016 soon!

Glad to report that DD got her acceptance today in NYC - we’re all thrilled and good luck to all!

no info yet…also in Georgia…more waiting

Mail came today…still nothing

Elizabeth,

Just curious-- were all of the letters mailed on last Wednesday?

MomOfMouse, I haven’t actually recieved my letter yet. My coach just called (I’m a recruited athlete) to let me know that I’ve been accepted. They’ll probably arrive on Monday for the both of us.

Thanks 7steps. Hopefully, Monday!

She’s in!!!

The mail didn’t come until after 7:30 PM today. We must have checked the mail 10 times today.

Huge congratulations to your daughter and the rest of the 2016 crew!

^^
7:30 pm mail delivery? My God! Just curious…do you live outside the USA? U.S. postal service doesn’t deliver that late. Congratulations, by the way.

Thanks quaere and plainsman. She is so excited.

We live in Atlanta, Georgia. We both nearly had heart attacks when the decision seemed to not have come with Monday’s mail.

Our mail is always delivered somewhat late, usually around 4 PM. After 7:30 PM was a first. I guess it’s because of holiday mail slowing things down.
