<p>If an early decision applicant is deferred to the regular decision pool, then accepted, is the applicant still bound to attend? I looked around for an answer to this on Columbia's website, but I couldn't find anything. Perhaps I wasn't looking in the right places.</p>

<p>No you r considered as an RD applicant so you are not required to go to the school.</p>
<p>Absolutely not. If deferred, you are released from your ED contract. You can freely apply to and attend other schools regardless of whether or not you’re admitted to Columbia. Really, ED isn’t that oppressive!</p>
