I am planning on applying ED for Stern, however I am taking the SAT subject tests on November. Now I don't know if my subject tests will make it for ED and I'm really worried.

My question is:

Can I apply ED without subject test score, or can I explain that I will recieve my scores soon and also if this situation will hurt my chances. Am I just better off applying for RD?

There is a new policy for standardized testing that was issued last year. You should look it up on the website. Personally, I planned to take the Math SAT II Level 2 in November, however, upon deciding I was going to apply ED to NYU, I decided to take the exam on October after studying over the summer. I scored a 780, so you should just spend more quality time studying while sacrificing the comfort of having time on your hands. You know what I mean? Hopefully I was a help to you! :)

Yeah I know what you mean, but I plan on taking my SAT I on October and prepare for everything over the summer since I didn’t score as well as I hoped during May.

So can I just send in my SAT I score? Won’t that hurt my admission chances?

NYU has a new policy on standardized testing requirements effective beginning with the freshman class entering in the fall of 2011. It appears to provide students with a great deal more latitude in what combinations of scores they submit. Here is the link: [New Standardized Testing Policy for 2011](<a href=“How to Apply”>How to Apply)

Yes I am aware of the new policy, however I am wondering if it will lower my chances of admission in any way if I don’t have my subject test scores in time.

From the Standardized Testing General Q & A page of the above referenced website:

When should I take my standardized tests?
If you are a freshman applying as an Early Decision candidate (application deadline November 1st), we recommend that you complete all of your standardized testing by the October test date, and you must complete all of your testing by the November test date. If you are a freshman applying for Regular Decision (application deadline January 1st), we recommend that you complete your testing by the November dates, and you must complete all of your testing by the December test date.

-------I would take that to mean that while they would prefer that you have all your scores in at the time of submitting your application, they will hold on your decision until they receive your November scores.
