Is it true that early decision will increase your chances of getting into a school? Whether it being Vanderbilt, Chapel Hill, Uinversity of Virginia, or College of Williams and Mary?

Early decision will definitly increase your odds. There is a deference between early decision and early action. I believe W & M is early action which is typically harder than regular decision (though if you apply early action and are not accepted it is standard to be deferred to regular decision). Early decision is binding and the school expects that if you are accepted you will attend. This can be tricky as you are agreeing without knowing your financial package (though Vandy is usually generious). If money is a major concern (as it is with most people) you need to think hard about early decision. Early action is not binding but typically most schools request that you only apply to them early action (this is not true for all schools). I don’t know if UVA and Chappel Hill have early decision and/or early action. Best of luck.

Thanks, great answer. And yes, I do have a money problem, well, I wouldnt consider it a problem(I’m really Low income) considering that low income individuals get financial aid most of the time. I also heard that Vandy is generous with financial aid, but I dont know the consequences of doing ED being a low income individual. I guess student loans will be an option.

W&M - ED
Vanderbilt - ED 1 and 2
UNC - EA
uva - will be EA

You could do Vanderbilt, Unc, and UVa all at once. vanderbilt doesn’t defer for either Ed 1 or Ed 2 - just admit or deny.
