I have been accepted, phone call, no packet yet.
Does anyone know if, once your accepted you can still take community college courses, that will transfer?
The website is a little confusing.
I am redgistered for three classes starting in January, and don’t know what to do.
Thanks! Sam

Im from upstate New York!

Sam, first congratulation on your acceptance! I would definitely call and speak to your adviser or the head of the department you were accepted into concerning your community college courses. I know one person who took courses during the summer at a community college when she was a rising junior and she had to do a lot of work to get the department to accept the course before she took them. She worked hard and it turns out they do not count the grades in your GPA, which was upsetting since she got As in both courses.

To be honest I’m not worried about them counting them in my GPA, I just thought I’d knock out a few classes this semester and possibly over the summer, so I had a lighter load my Freshman year. My brother did that at Tulane, it help him adjust better. He graduated at only 20, suma. Also, I am finishing my chemo treatments, and frankly bored!
I will call American after winter break. Thanks. Great Advise.

Anyone else from Texas get in?
Sam

sammctexas - I would like to see the classes you are taking count towards your gen ed requirements so it is important to take the right courses and get the school’s sign off. Definitely call the school after break. Glad to hear that you are finishing your treatments. Wishing you good health in the coming year.
