I've noticed that a ton of people have commented on how they have already been accepted/rejected/deferred...and I didn't know how this was possible. I know that some in-state schools notify in-state candidates earlier and there are some schools like Wake Forest with binding summer plans..but some people are throwing out replies from schools like NYU and UVA that are out of state. Do you any of you know how this works? becuase i thought the majority don't really hear until DEC 15? thanks!

It really varies from school to school. Most of the really competitive colleges(ivy-league, MIT, top 25) are going to release decisions online probably on Friday, December 10.

Like Hoo said, it varies from school to school. I was a bit shocked with W&M, though. They said that they'd be sending out letters in early December, but I got my acceptance letter on November 24th, along with financial information.

Hoo, I am most definitely relieved. W&M was my first choice, and I was so hopeful that I'd get in that it's the only application I've filled out so far. I was waiting for word from them before I did anymore applications. That may have been kind of stupid, but everything turned out all right, so I'm quite happy. It's really cool to not have to worry about getting into a college any more, but instead look forward to it. Now I get to worry about something else--paying for it. :)
