Basically, all the other schools have ED threads so it's about time we do too!
I haven't really seen more than four applicants on the boards haha, but now we can count down the days (8!!!), laugh, cry... all of the above...

So. Nervous. Oh well, we can't change anything now...

Lol, that was actually my comment that he wrote the post on. Maybe I overexaggerated a little with the word “terrifying” but it is nervewracking.

And I can’t believe nmthat now it’s four days until we know… Hopefully it’s good news!

Fabricated, that’s actually pretty cool that your comment was used for that! I don’t think it was an exaggeration at all lol.

Yup, I got an email saying:

Early Decision Round One applicants to Wesleyan are invited to participate in our online notification. The online decision notification page will be available from 3:00 pm EST Friday, December 11 through 5:00 pm EST Friday, December 18. During that period applicants will be able to log on to the link below to access their admission decision letter.
oh man, I can’t wait. I wonder if that implies that the decisions will be ready on the 11th, or that we are just going to be able to log in. I guess we’ll see.

bswsoccermom: I got the email in my spam folder, so your daughter’s might have been sent there. And I got mine at 5:38 PM (one minute later than you paintmepurple :P). I am SO EXCITED/NERVOUS/ANXIOUS FOR FRIDAY!!!

No, no, no. They probably want to notify accepted applicants first! You’re the IN crowd. The rest of us may be ‘also rans’-an old horse racing term. This is awful! Does anyone know what this means? How many of you received the same email as PMP?

I think you’re getting a little overexcited there, haha. I got this e-mail, but I’m pretty likely to get rejected from the school, based on numbers. Seriously, it means nothing, your daughter will get the e-mail. And the last thing your daughter needs is a freak-out from you.

I don’t know why they let parents on to these sites.

We’re here to freak out online rather than at home! I’m sure you are all in, as you care so much. Seriously, I wish all of you the best of luck.

I just found out, my daughter got the email, too. So we’re all in the same boat. (I asked her to check.) Ugh!

Much ado about nothing? I keep my parents as far away from my own application process, haha. They don’t even know where I’m applying sometimes until I ask for a credit card number…

So for some reason I was under the impression that we would hear back on the 15th. The e-mail did shock me at first, they kind of gave it the most misleading title ever.

Hahaha monstahr! I feel the same way. I thought I was actually going to be getting the decision tonight, and freaked out a little. Also, everyone needs to relax. Even though it would suck to be rejected, it is NOT the end of the world, and there are plenty of other great schools. One of my teachers told me today that everything happens for a reason, and if I’m rejected, it means that I will probably be “meeting the love of my life, or the connections to get my dream job” at whatever school I go to. I just thought that was funny, and hope it helps everyone else put things in perspective!

We thought it was 12/15 as well. Friday is much earlier. Good-less waiting, but so much sooner than we expected! You all will be fine and most likely happy in whatever school you get into. It’s just hard when you gear yourself up to apply early to your number one choice to then hear that the school may not be as enthusiastic about you. I hope you are all in!

This isn’t the real me, this is the college anxiety monster. I am (we are?) freaking out despite all the wonderful support and advice CC/friends/family have given me/us to stay calm.
I have some RD schools that I guess I’ll be happy at, but none that I feel attached to. Staying level-headed is probably the most difficult part of the whole process, and I ALMOST don’t care what the decision is. I just want to know so I can… uh, sleep. I’m assuming decisions are made by now, so it’s even more frightening.
My parents can barely use computers. :)

Hey EDers! I’m a current freshman and a whole bunch of us were in your shoes last year! Don’t worry, Wes doesn’t really send out an email specifically to rejectees, acceptees or deferrals: its totally random. I got a message later than everyone else and I got in. International kids: Look forward to something in your mail!

If you have any questions: don’t hesitate to ask!

my sister graduated from Wes 6 years ago. I mean Wes doesn’t have a supplement but on the common app I said that my sister attended Wesleyan University so hopefully they’ll see that. Will that help me at all?
