When I see my mailman down the block I am going to go and meet him so I don’t have to wait for him to walk to my front steps and put it in my mailbox! This way I will know like a minute sooner. Incase you can’t tell I want to get my letter as soon as possible.

Is there any international students here got admitted to Bates?
I haven’t received their email yet. Bates told me that they would email International Students in addition to sending mail!!

heroineAT2010- If you want to know an exact date as to when they will be sending the emails to international students then I would recommend calling them and asking. My guess though would be by friday as they said everyone would hear by the friday the 20th in one of their tweets and that is the date that is post for decision release online. I wish you the best of luck and will keep my fingers crossed that you get in!

Happy dance happening now at niceday’s house.

Congrats niceday! Just wondering where do you live? Trying to figure out if it is likely that my letter will come tomorrow.

Another happy happy dance in CT today!! Hang in there swimmer 576!

Our D’s letter arrived by priority mail in TX yesterday Dec 18. It was posted Monday Dec 16. Probably the applicants who live closer will still receive theirs regular mail. I would guess that’ll be today. Good luck y’all!

Niceday I hope you are correct that mine comes today because I can’t wait much longer.

Congratulations Niceday
I’m hopeful the rest of us cc posting folks get the same good news. (today!)
Swimmer576 - I keep my fingers your mailman delivers the envelope today.

Congratulations to all the new Bobcats, and to those still waiting, good luck! Hopefully the wait will be worth it. :)

My S received his “Congratulations” yesterday. He is excited. Mom is relieved. :)

Thanks Sue22, I am sure we will be looking for advice along the way. Some of the nicest people on CC seem to be Bates parents. :)

Congratulations to all the Bobkittens!! I haven’t been on here since last summer, but came by to catch some of the excitement. My daughter is a first year student and could not be any happier with her experience at Bates so far. She is working hard, learning a lot, having fun, and has made some very nice friends. Good luck to everyone who is waiting–hope it all works out well!

Echoing everyone else - congratulations to all the new Bobcats! My son is a first year student and loves everything about Bates. He enjoyed his classes and his professors and has really liked the people at Bates. He is a very happy Bobcat. It’s a great place - I’m crossing my fingers for everyone else who is waiting.

I would also say that my son applied ED1 last year (you know, the year that Bates received 35% more EDI applications) and in spite of assurances from the golf coach, was deferred. He was crushed. We were crushed. He kept in touch in a nice way through the winter. Not sure what helped but he was accepted RD - we were absolutely delighted! So if any of you are deferred, dreams really can come true.

And agree with Summeristhebest - the Bates parents here have been wonderful. So helpful and welcoming.

We live in Northern Virginia and am surprised we have not heard one way or the other after four days. Are the people who are receiving acceptances receiving them by priority mail and have those who have not been admitted hearing by first class mail? I’m just wondering whether having not heard is a sign that we are getting the slower-mail “no” as opposed to an expedited-mail “yes.” Thanks for any guidance/handholding.

Congratulations envelope came in the mail today for my D. West Coast - San Francisco.
