My D decided at the last minute to switch her application to early decision II. She contacted the college, and they told her they would extend the date until she went back to school after Christmas break, to make sure the school had sent their part in. She told me I needed to send the CSS in. I delayed, because I knew if you sent it in before you filed taxes, then you had to revise to every school you sent it to. Then I figured that if she got in early decision, we wouldnt have to worry about it. She told me that the college would give a financial aid estimate with the early decision, if she was accepted. What she didn't tell me was that I had to fill out a seperate request for this. I found this out when I talked to a financial aid counselor today, and she reminded me that early decision is binding, and we would have to make a decision without having a financial estimate if she is accepted. So, I am feeling sick right now...I am a single parent, work two jobs to put her in the best high school I can, and make in a year about what the college costs for a year. What happens if she gets accepted, and we accept and the financial aid just won't cut it? Do I have any other options, or should I just wait to see if they take her?

Contact the ED school's financial aid office and discuss the situation with them. They will most likely assist you.

Thanks, I'll try that. Also maybe talk to my D's contact in Admissions. There was a person that she got to know when she went for the Multicultural Visitation program. Maybe he can give some advice also.
