Early Decision lower my chances??

Here's my situation.
I really want to attend Boston University and therefore, am considering ED.
My grades aren't top notch though.
I have an 80 average, and a non-outstanding SAT score (A 1600 the first time, I actually studied for the second time and took the test yesterday and hopefully improved).
On the plus side, I have many extra-curicular activites and many AP & honor courses.

The thing is: I heard that for ED mostly top students with 95 averages and 2300 SAT scores apply (is this even true?).
So these are the students that I'll be compared with. Will my chances be lowered by doing ED? Is ED II any different or should I stick to Regular Decision?

Thanks.

There is no way that BU recieves that strong of an applicant pool ED. ED will always increase chances- no exceptions to it.

r u sarcastic?
it's 1600/2400 so it's bad.
but ED will increases ur chances no matter how low they r

"r u sarcastic?

it's worse than bad, i know. But that's why I wrote non-outstanding.

But thanks for the advice guys=P
