Good luck everyone!! Based on what applicants have said over the past couple of years as to when the letters actually arrive, some lucky applicants (chiefly residents of Maine) MIGHT receive letters today but most will receive their letters tomorrow (like those who live in Massachusetts) and a few will have to wait until Monday.

rejected by email =( good luck every one else though =)

i got in! im an international and the email said : you’re in!

wooo! congrats starrrgirl! Was that seriously all the email said?

Letters mailed yesterday. Emails will also be sent out to everyone on thursday the 16th. Good luck! I would expect the snail mail to arrive on monday though. That would give it two business days to go.

Depends on where you live!!! Saturday mail may contain the news, especially for those who live in Massachusetts and other New England states.

How long do you suppose it will take for New Jersey?

Doh I live in ohio… hopefully it comes tomorrow for me too!

wad up from northern jerz… I AM FREAKING OUTTTTT!!! BOWDOIN IS SO AWESOME AND AMAZING! HOW DO SO MANY PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT SUCH A TINY GEM!? GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! I REALLY DO HOPE THE BEST!! everything happens for a reason!

Dear S:

You’re in! On behalf of the Admissions Committee, I am delighted to inform you
that you have been admitted to Bowdoin College’s Class of 2015. Your
accomplishments and your strong interest in Bowdoin convinced the Admissions
Committee that you have earned a place at the College.

When you arrive at Bowdoin, you will become part of a rich academic tradition
that began more than 200 years ago with the matriculation of Bowdoin’s first
class. You and your future classmates were selected not only for your
exceptional academic achievement and potential for intellectual growth, but
also for the other talents you will bring to our residential community.
Bowdoin is a fantastic place, and the Class of 2015 is going to bring great
energy, academic strength and social purpose to the College. I look forward to
welcoming you next fall.

Please complete the enclosed statement acknowledging your intention to enroll
next fall, and return it to us with your deposit by Wednesday, January 5, 2011.
If you applied for financial aid at Bowdoin, your decision letter is enclosed.

It is important for you to know that your Early Decision admission is granted
with the condition that you remain in good academic and social standing, and
that you maintain throughout the year the academic achievement that earned your
acceptance at this early stage.

Please know that all of us in the Admissions Office are delighted by your
acceptance, and we take great pride in welcoming you to Bowdoin.
Congratulations once again.

Sincerely,
Scott A. Meiklejohn
Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid

that’s what it said :D

Very nice!

Congrats Starrgirl! Did you receive in Friday’s mail or are you international and got an email?

Congrats! At least I now know I only need to read the very top to know whether I am in or not (unlike some colleges which enjoy burying the lead in the middle of the letter).

Eelenak – S’s mail from Bowdoin reaches him in two days, so you could hear as early as Sat., but certainly by Mon. I would think. Best wishes!

My daughter received her small envelope today; we live in PA. She is out of town until tomorrow! But it doesn’t look like an acceptance. : (

spinart – let’s hope it’s a deferral if it’s not an acceptance!

I live in MA, I got deferred Better than a rejection!!!

Darn! Saturday mail just arrived here in Maryland and nothing from Bowdoin. Now I guess I have to wait until Monday . . . ahhhhh.

I live in California! I’m not sure how long that will take. Waiting is so difficult!

We live just outside Boston and daughter received her letter in today’s mail. She’s thrilled that she’s accepted. We know many who in prior years have been deferred and then accepted in the spring, so try to stay positive : )
