Early Decision Notification

Hey so I was reading old threads and it sounds like the notifications for early decision will arrive around the 15th, but the Bowdoin website says Mid-december, and other sites have said by december 31st.

Does anyone have any idea when the notification’s will actually arrive or be sent out??

thanks!

I got mine last year right around the 15th

AHHH i cantt wait any longerrrrr. blahh

They sent out the letters yesterday!!

How do you know?

It’s on the orient, read their school newspaper : )

36% acceptance rate for ED I

The Office of Admissions sent letters to the 510 Early Decision I (ED I) applicants on Thursday, the culmination of the ED I process.
The total number of applications was up 3.2 percent from last year’s figure. Out of the ED I pool, 184 students were accepted, 143 were deferred to regular decision, 180 were denied admission, and three applications were incomplete, yielding a total of 510 applications, and an acceptance rate of 36 percent.

Here is the link to the article in today’ school paper - the Bowdoin Orient
[The Bowdoin Orient](Orient article offers singular, alarming interpretation – The Bowdoin Orient)

35 students of color were taken in within a 184 acceptances…just about 20%

Not to be ignorant, but is 20% low?

i think it depends. compared to the other small liberal art colleges, Bowdoin is significantly higher in regards to diversity. They amdmited 37% of students of color who applied ED + RD last year. In perspective of the ED pool, i dont think we know because we dont know how many students of color applied ED. (How many students of color do ED any small liberal arts anyway.) they coud have accpeted as high as 35 / 36 or as low as 35 / 150.

I RUSHED HOME TODAY IN THE UNLIKELY CHANCE THE LETTER WAS IN MY MAILBOX. it wasnt =[

I got my letter about 15 minutes ago! Soo excited that I got in! Good luck :)

Hey guys, quick question… for the 35 students of color accepted, does that include Hispanics and other URMs too? Or just African Americans?

CONGRATS TO ALL THAT GOT IN!

“students of color” includes all minorities in the United States; all ethnic groups that are not classified as “Caucasians” are considered as “students of color.”

I got mine in the mail at about 3:15 today! Soo psyched right now.

Good luck to everyone else :)

Damn mrklaw, now there’s only 183 spots left for ED1. JK congrats!

Hello! I was accepted to Bowdoin also! I am excited to talk to people who are going to be in my same graduating class!

182 left 10char

Congrats to those who got accepted. I just got my decision a minute ago but I got rejected so good luck to you guys !!!

i am still waiting for my letter… were the envelopes big or little???

I think they are all regular size since the package might be mailed later
