<p>it just gives you a sense of where you stand academically.</p>
<p>if you have a high AI, you're that much closer to being admitted. this basically means that you have a bit more room to be a little less steller in other areas of the app, where as someone with a lower AI really needs to shine in other parts.</p>
<p>i think the AI is kind of useful, but shouldn't be taken too seriously.</p>

<p>gqunit- yours is higher than mine! mine's 222 mostly because i estimated 700 for the SAT II i took today so i wouldn't jinx myself, and because i don't know my exact rank, only that i'm top 10%</p>
