<p>I am very fond of Johns Hopkins University, and want to apply Early Decision. But, even though you must go if you are accepted, can I not go if it is financially difficult?</p>

<p>Yes, there is a clause in the ED agreement that says you don’t have to attend if the FA package offered you is adequate. HOWEVER, if you apply ED, you will NOT be able to compare FA packages between colleges.</p>
<p>… which is why someone in your circumstances should not apply ED to any school. Good luck however.</p>
