I'm a prospective undergrad (going into CS) applying to college this fall and I know my first choice is definitely Cornell just because I feel right at home there. I do plan on applying through ED to Cornell, but I also have the urge to apply for another EA school just in case. Does Cornell's admission policy allow me to apply to Cornell ED AND EA at another college, assuming the other college allows so?

You can apply EA at another school unless it is restrictive as in the case of MIT, Stanford, Yale, Harvard and Princeton. EA isn’t binding. Although if you get in Cornell ED, you will have to turn down your EA admission cause ED is binding.

The answer is yes. I’m doing Cornell ED & Fordham/Villanova/Notre Dame EA. ED & EA both generally boost your chances, so it’s a good idea to apply EA to a few schools in case you get deferred ED to your top choice. Like Lelyke said, at a few schools — you cannot apply EA if you’re applying ED somewhere else (Boston College & Georgetown are two others with restrictive plans).
