If I apply early decision at Rochester, can I apply early action to Umass amherst and Northeastern??? Or must I only apply to Rochester for ED? Thanks for your help!

ED is binding at all schools. You can only apply ED to one school. EA is not binding, just gives you piece of mind that you can get acceptance(s) early. You do not have to commit until the spring.

But if you get into your ED school, you are committed to go there and must withdraw all other applications.

And finally, if this isn’t said enough on CC, DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT ED IF FINANCES ARE AN ISSUE!!!

Yes, you may apply to Rochester ED and to Northeastern and UMass EA. However, as noted above, if you are accepted to Rochester, you must attend, regardless of the decisions of Northeastern and UMass. If you are deferred from Rochester ED, you are then free to attend any school that accepts you even if you are ultimately admitted to Rochester.
