Hi, I'm applying early decision and noticed that some of my required items including SAT scores and teacher recommendations have not been received by the admisssions office- is anybody else having this problem? how long should i wait before asking teachers to resend? what is drop dead cutoff to be reviewed? thanks

Helloagain - I highly recommend calling our office (585-275-3221) to notify a counselor of your situation. Truth be told, we have had some issues processing application materials, and if your materials were sent previously you will not be penalized for this. Depending on the circumstances, we can usually be flexible. When you call, a counselor can attempt to locate the missing documents. If they are not found in our system, we can have you resend them.

hi, i called office and they are looking for my materials but this doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, what kind of problems are you having? i have a mental picture of a room full of monkeys hurling envelopes at each other…lol

^^Perhaps not the best statement to make to an admissions officer as an applicant hoping to gain admission ;).

I don’t know what to make of that! We pay our monkeys fairly well so I sincerely hope they wouldn’t be hurling envelopes at eachother during work hours.

In all seriousness… The issues we are having are minor. Naviance has been experiencing some delays, so application materials submitted through Naviance will take longer to process. Aside from that, things should be running smoothly at this point. If you continue to experience difficulty, please let me know.

I have to say, after almost four years of being on CC, this thread takes the prize…literally made me laugh to the point of tears last night…

MConklin: Kudos to you for your sense of humor!!!

Agreed UserName. UR was the most organized admissions process our D experienced; some colleges never notified her they received her information; one ivy league college rudely called up and said they couldn’t process her application without financial aid information which they hadn’t requested from us. They had the FAFSA but wanted our tax returns. Another ivy had her on their waiting list yet their website said her materials submitted were incomplete. The website wasn’t updated until May 15th!

Helloagain, you should check with your high school. In our D’s case, her high school hadn’t sent in her midterm grades and then when they sent them in late, one grade was inaccurate and they had to resend it again. D was so fed up with how her high school handled the admissions paperwork, she asked for everything so she could send it all in herself.
