Early Decision Question! Don't make Early Decision Deadline, what happens now?

Hey, I've been currently applying for colleges/universities for the past few months. And two universities I applied to were Binghamton University and University of Albany in New York. At the time, I applied for 'early decision'. But now the deadline for the application was supposed to be today (Nov. 15) And I'm not able to complete my application (I haven't been able to get my recommendations forms)

I've been asking my friends this the whole day, but I wanted to get more opinions. I went to the college office in my school and told one of the people who worked in the office about my situation. She wasn't much help since she responded with a "I really don't know."

So, what happens when you don't submit your whole app by the deadline when you applied for an Early Decision? Will they still look at my application when I do manage to get all my things together later? Will this leave a bad impression for those who will be reviewing my app later?

Feel free to add any helpful info on early decision ^^

The posted deadlines are for YOUR part of the application only. Your recommendations, transcripts, and test scores can trickle in afterwards, so long as they get there reasonably soon. So don’t worry about recommendations not being ready today . . . just get your part of the application filed.

I don’t understand how you can apply early decision to multiple schools, though. Early decision generally involves a commitment to attend if accepted. Perhaps you mean early action?

Both Bing and Albany use Early ACTION, not Early Decision.

Why are you asking classmates and internet strangers? The people with the real answers are a telephone call away – the school admissions offices. Stop all this guessing, call them Monday, and get your answers.

Jeez guys /sorry/ for getting early action and early decision mixed up. - -
@T26E4: Well when was it so wrong to ask an audience who might have had experienced something similar? Sheesh. I thought that was the point of these forums? To get opinions on these sorts of topics. I do plan on calling the admissions office.

It’s easy. If you can’t fill in your application by the deadline date, just email or call them as soon as possible asking for an extension. And tell them why. They’d be happy to extend it. Brown did that for me.

5riginal: the nature of your question was this: I missed the deadline for EA/ED at school X. What do you think are the ramifications?

My direct advice to you was: Call the school, state your case, and find out.

Since your fate will be in their hands – what does speculating with friends and posters on this forum really get you WITHOUT calling the school eventually? No matter what amount of encouragement and info people reply here with – you’re still going to end up having to call the college.

I’m not trying to be coy. You have a real situation and I directed you to the real answer – not fluff opinions by well-wishers.

Binghamton’s website says that you have until Dec. 2. to get everything else there.
This is from their site:

"Early action deadline: November 15

All required application materials (transcripts and test scores) must be submitted by Monday, Dec. 2.

Binghamton will provide early action decisions by January 15."

Exactly correct. To get opinions.

You need facts. There is a difference.

For facts, go to the source.

It looks like the info is readily available for Bing. You could have saved yourself a lot of heartburn by just googling.

Really? And I’m thinking the OP could have used bing to find this info. :D

Well done, dodgersmom.

Would that be a double entendre or a triple? :)
