Smith appears to offer 3 application options -- Early Decision I (11/15 deadline), Early Decision II (1/1 deadline), and Regular Decision (1/15 deadline). Does anyone know whether a student can apply Early Decision to another college, as well as Early Decision II to Smith? I am guessing the answer is no, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Since the deadlines are different, you would likely have heard from your ED school first so if you didn’t get in you could apply EDII at Smith. But remember, you can only have one ED application in at a time.

As long as you’ve heard yes or no from the college that you applied to ED1 before you apply ED2 at Smith, it’s ok. If you haven’t heard yet, you could probably still do it, but you would need to withdraw your ED2 application as soon as you hear back from the school you applied to ED1 (assuming you get accepted at that school).

I think honestly, the ED2 and the RD deadlines are so close, you’re better off just applying to one school ED and then applying to Smith and any of your other school choices by RD.
