hey i was wondering, if u want to apply for a college EA, can u only apply to ONE college? i wanted to EA to all of the ivy league schools, but i think i heard somewhere that u can only EA to one college. thx

Early Action is not binding, meaning you can apply to more than one college as an EA applicant. But out of respect, you shouldn't apply to more than one school even as an EA, because you could take a possible slot away from someone who really wants to go to that school more than you do!

I do know that Stanford requires its EA applicants to sign a statement that they are applying only to Stanford as an EA school.

EDIT (after tkm's post): yeah, Stanford is a SCEA school.

There are different ways to apply early. The two main types are Early Action (EA) and Early Decision (ED). If you apply ED, you can only apply to one school, period. No regular decisions after that. If you apply Early Action, they don't care how many you apply to. However, if it is Single Choice Early Action (SCEA), you can only apply to that one school EA and the others must be RD.

You have to look up which are EA, ED, or SCEA. Yale and Harvard are SCEA, I think. The others are ED, and you have to choose. You can't apply early to ALL the Ivy Leagues, that's just insane, but you can send in your applications RD as early as you'd like. You just won't get the decision letter until next year, like most people.

Are you sure you want to apply to all of the Ivy leagues? They're very different from each other. You might want to find which characteristics you like in a college best and then apply to similar safeties.
