i’m thinking about applying early decision to NYU…but, i understand that this means if i do get in, its kinda like a binding contract that i have to attend…
but what if i don’t get enough aid or something like that? like do i have to attend no matter what?

<p>You have little flexibility to negotiate w/ ED since you have no other offers. Even if the school says it will meet your demonstrated financial need, they could do it with loans just as easy as grants. Also, their definition of demonstrated need, maybe a lot different that yours. Usually, a school will only let you out of the binding contract for extreme financial reasons.....in their view.</p>
<p>Go to the CB website and calculate your family's efc to get a good idea of what colleges will expect you to contribute. But, remember, they can meet your need with loans and not necessarily grants.</p>
