Early decision rescinding

Hi,

Recently was accepted into Whitman college early decision and am worried about my upcoming semester 7 grades - last year, I averaged about an a-/b+ grade, but this semester my grades will probably all be b’s. Is this going to be frowned upon in the admissions office/is rescinding possible or is a more drastic drop needed? thank you

Avoid Ds, Fs, felonies and fraud. And you’ll be golden

Yep, as T26E4 said, colleges do NOT rescind unless your grades go down extremely/something extreme happens to you. Don’t think like the conditions for being rescinded is the same as that for getting an acceptance letter. Colleges typically rescind only a handful of offers later in the year, but it’s mostly because of some extreme reasons.

Why not call Whitman and ask? It’s not like they won’t see your grades eventually. Seems it would be better to know before the window to apply elsewhere closes.

Agree with post #1 – B’s should be fine.

Did your admission letter specify any GPA or grade performance you need to maintain in senior year? If so, meet it.
