If we all do get in, I'll also be happy to discuss it further with you guys. Sigh, I can't wait until graduation (early june for me).

Same here icymoon =)

Hey, where in Cali are you btw? I was in LA for 8 weeks this past summer and it was AMAZING.

Haha, glad to know you enjoyed California, athlon. I live pretty close to LA, too.

And nspeds, you must also get in as well so I'll have someone to argue with, right? ;)

justa um question...why are we all posting on the ED thread and not the ID one? ED is already over........

icymoon,

I hope you get in too:), I am praying every minute.

Did all of you apply ID?

Haha, um I don't know why I'm posting in the ED thread.. it just seems more active than the current ID one.

Yeah, ID applicant here.

Yes. I applied ID also......

fair enough, athlon. Late night discussions around the pool or pingpong table or over a couple beers at Willy's are key. I hope all you guys will be taking a one way flight to Houston come August. :)

Pat, you're a college basketball fan eh? Then you must be well aware that my Fighting Illini is #1 right now and WILL go all the way this year! ;)

Or a one way drive; I live in Sugar Land;)

Yes, I am quite aware. NC is the only team in the country that I believe has a fighting chance against Illini. Actually, one of my good friend's parents both went to UI-UC and he's a big fan. His loyalties to the Rice basketball team run much deeper though. :) Our basketball team is so awesome and they don't separate themselves from the rest of the student body like athletes do at most D1 schools. If you get into Rice, I will definitely give you the scoop on the Autry Army, our basketball fan club. btw, my roommate, Lorenzo Williams, is on the team - you can find a pic and bio @ riceowls.com

Hey, I'm a National Merit Semifinalist, and I was wondering how the Semifinalists who applied ED fared in getting in?

LOL! man, i didn't realize the "audience" to whom I was addressing when I posted onto this website. I forgot that parents as well as children are concerned over the "college blues." I did not use the word "gay" in an offensive strike against homosexuals. That's so funny that people even took this seriously. I sure hope I did not cause anyone to lose their sleep with anger. I simply used the word because as we all know that "this" word is used in common slang and jargon and only slipped out as a word of mouth. Thou asks for forgiveness. Now, Rice admitted 100 deferred applicants last year, is this correct? See the problem with that is that I don't know how many got defferred to begin with. If there are 150 that were defferred or 200 and 100 got in, that's nearly 50-75% yield of the deferred kids, which if were true i would feel MUCH more relieved, however, my friend who got deferred by MIT says that only 17% were flat rejected early d. 20% were accepted, and the rest were defferred, now that's plenty of competition. WEll, if all else fails, there is always UT, (thou comes from Houston). And I see there are many College basketball fans, GOOD! I LOOOOOOOVE COLLEGE BASKETBALL! which will not only justify my next point but add substance to my knowledge when i say that KENTUCKY IS WINNING IT ALL! sorry athlonmj but shelton williams is SOOO GOOD! but there is always faith in duke....TAKE CARE EVERYONE SORRY FOR MY FOUL LANGUAGE!!! ( i guess since we are on a rice forum, we speak F-OWL language, not FOUL language) HAHAH!!! crickets chirp hecklers pick up thier tomates. PEACE!

btw, nspeds, i hate when people use the word "retarted" offensively...i REALLY hate it...(thou brother is blind)...i understand everyone's sensitivity....SORRY

Yeah sometimes people forget their "audience"... just keep in mind that this is a public forum, meaning anyone like parents, alumni interviewers, teachers, and admissions officers (the list goes on) could be frequenting these boards.

where has everybody gone?

I think your bad grammar turned them off.

Can someone get deferred from Interim Decision to Regular Decision, or do only ED applicants get deferred to Regular?
