to those deferred or rejected: it's Rice's loss...if Rice doesn't work out for you, you'll be happy wherever you go; best of luck, deferred, you still have a shot :)

All the acceptees please post your STATs so all the deferred people can know where we are lacking. And please post any hooks you guys think you had.

Thanks, Collegekid88. The sad part was this afternoon I was up in MD Anderson Cancer Center in my dad's room looking out at the Rice Stadium as I talked with S on the phone. He opened his Rice deferment letter and conveyed his disappointment over the phone but said that he would be OK. I was expecting him to be accepted but it's just not to be. BTW, at the hospital, I keep looking around at the doctors and nurses, wondering which ones were Rice undergrads - they are all so wonderful here.

Congrats collegekid and the others...I hope you all will read the thread in the Parents section that I started a thread about. It shows that there are many, many places to be happy, and that things tend to work out for the best...hope you all have a great holiday season. I am so excited that my S gets home from boarding school tomorrow after a grueling exam week!Tabby
