Cornell’s colleges work very much on a “fit” basis, meaning they would like to see if you’re a match for that specific college. You didn’t go into too much detail about your ECs, do you feel that they represent you and your decision to enter CALS well? What’s your choice of major, and how will you be able to relate your experiences to that choice?
Your GPA is fine, and so is your course load. Community service is good, but as you said, the SAT score might turn some heads. Don’t let that keep you from applying though. Give them compelling argument, kick butt on the essay, and you’ll have a shot. Good luck!
Thank you! I chose Biology and Society, which it is more focused on the human’s social science. Most of my ecs are about management and also helping the autistic kids in center for all abilities. So I don’t know if it “fits” them. The supplement essay I wrote about was how I use helping the autistic kids experience can foster my interest in terms of studying biological science.
