If November 6, 2006 is the last test date on which SAT I or SAT II Subject Tests may be taken for Single-Choice Early Action consideration at Yale and at this point I need to take the SAT and 3 required SAT II tests is there a way I can fit in all those tests if the last testing date is Nov 6?
Basically i think there are 3 sat/sat subject testing dates and I need to take 4 exams (sat + 3 sat II’s). So is it possible to take more than one in one testing date? I have no idea how i can work that in. Also I’d probably prefer to take the sat a second time.
<p>taking the ACT means you dont need sat ii's, so I could take the NEW SAT I because i am strong in that and then take the ACT in lieu of my sat ii's because i'm not strong in specific subject tests. . . . .</p>
<p>I've never heard of colleges accepting the ACT instead of SAT IIs before. Some colleges that allow the ACT as a substitute for the SATI - that is, they still require that SATIIs accompany it.</p>
<p>"1. Except for a few colleges that will not take one test or the other, all colleges accept the ACT or SAT and have long ago done away with any belief that one is more prestigious than the other. The ACT has some advantages over the SAT because there are a number of colleges that usually require SAT II's but will accept the ACT in lieu of both the SAT and SAT II's (examples: Yale, Penn, Brown, Hopkins, Duke, Tufts, Amherst, Vassar, Pomona) and thus you can avoid taking the SAT II's if you score high on the ACT."</p>
<p>fatthermit, most colleges will indeed take either the sat I and 3 sat II's OR simply the act. I believe all the ivies, stanford, and pretty much all schools. if you;re not sure what to do, take all of the tests, then decide which to send to yale.</p>
