I want to apply ED to Duke and I realize it's a binding agreement so I could only do one. My question is could I apply ED to Duke and EA to some other schools since EA is non-binding?

Of course you can. If you get admitted to Duke ED then you have to immediately withdraw all your other apps including EA apps.

At that point you are definitely going to Duke, regardless of the financial aid award. So be sure you can afford it before going ED.

As far as I know, Duke does not limit EA or other schools with its ED application. However, as things change in that area, make sure you double check when you get the Duke app. Also when you pick your EA schools, make sure that they do not have rules prohibiting an ED app if you apply EA with them. There are such schools. I believe BC and GT do not permit ED apps if you apply EA to them. Then there are the single choice EA schools that do not permit any other early apps.

Great GT and BC were the ones I was mainly thinking of EA. Does UNC limit?
