I'm a junior right now but I have a few questions.
I understand that you can only apply early decision to one school. My parents want me to apply early decision to all the schools I apply for and i tell them it's a waste of money but they said it's worth the investment.
Can anyone clarify what the advantages of early decision are? (is it harder? )and
Is it possible to apply early decision to more than one school?

You can't apply to more than one school ED, since its binding (i.e. you must go if you get in).

Some schools have Early Action programs where you could apply to more than one EA school.

ED usually offers some advantage, since they're guaranteed that you matriculate. EA doesn't really help too much.

I know but i thought even if you get accepted if you don't go you just pay for first semester tuition. Is this true?

I don't know if that's true or not, but would you really waste 20k of your parents' money for EACH college you do ED but don't go?

ok just to clarify, you CANT apply to more than one school ED, the schools share ED lists, and if you apply to more than one,, expect to be rejected everywhere.

the only way to get out of ED is for financial reasons.. this is discussed more in detail on the parent's forum. you should check those out.

but in conclusion.. dont take ED as a loophole to get an acceptance, it'll backfire you. apply ED to the ONE school you fall in love with and are sure that you will go if you are accepted.
