Hi! I’m going into junior year in high school and have finally made a CC account! Could anybody tell me more about Ithaca’s early decision program for musical theatre applicants? Also, how well do we have to have done academically in high school to be able to apply early? And please explain the “we don’t need to consider your sat score”? Thank you!

If you apply early decision (ED) to Ithaca, you must audition on the first available date. Early action (EA) is not available to theater applicants. ED is binding, so you should be absolutely sure that Ithaca is your top choice and you would go there if you got in (you should also be sure that ou can afford to go there if you get in). See
<a href=“Admission | Ithaca College”>Admission | Ithaca College; for more details.

Standardized tests are now optional at Ithaca, unless you are homeschooled or unless your school does not give alphanumeric grades. If your SAT/ACTscores are good, though, it will help to submit them anyway. Ithaca’s website says that most admitted students have a B+ to A GPA.

Ithaca’s MT program is fabulous…best of luck!

“you should also be sure that ou can afford to go there if you get in”

That’s not necessary. If you are admitted ED asking for financial aid, you’ll get an offer with the ED acceptance. If it’s not enough to support attendance, you say thanks but no thanks, and apply elsewhere RD. However, use the Net Price Calculator to be sure you’re not wasting your application fee when it’s hopeless.

Thank you both so much! I have time but Im really seriously considering it.
