Early Decision

I looked and a lot of those are people from NY which makes sense because they’re closer

that explained

My mom at home said my acceptance letter came. Yup I’m good.

collegehipster where do you live tho, cuz I’m in MA and I haven’t heard anything from it.

I never got an email saying anything was shipped. I’m in Chicago

I did… lol yeaa boi, Hey we should all post stats

MA - Check your email and MyROC. I got my (brief letter of) acceptance there. Good luck!

so i got an email from admissions that said the following:
Thank you for your Early Decision application to the University of Rochester. While the admissions committee has determined that you have the potential for success at Rochester, they are requesting additional information before deciding.
This delay releases you from your Early Decision agreement, and you should apply to at least one other college. You continue to have a chance to earn admission to start at Rochester in August. To continue, please plan to submit an updated transcript of your secondary school record that includes your midyear grades (typically in January). If you have updated test scores (including predicted IB, AP, or national examinations) to send, or if you earn any new accomplishments or awards, please send us those results too.
With additional information, the committee will reassess your academic preparation and potential contributions to Rochester’s Class of 2019 along with applicants for regular decision. The Office of Admissions will send you a final decision by early April.

does this basically mean im deferred to regular decision, denied, or what?

Deferred. Still have a chance though

I just got my admissions letter and I still have to pay the entrance fee but the school website doesn’t say how much it is. Does anyone know how much the entrance fee is?

The deposit? I think my paperwork that was mailed says $800.

any idea if they actual deny people admittance to the school with early decision or if they simply defer all the people they don’t want?

According to the U of R site: “If you are an ED applicant who is denied admission, you will not be reconsidered for freshman admission with the regular decision pool. In some instances, an Early Decision applicant’s decision may be postponed and will be reconsidered for admission along with the Regular Decision pool and notified in late March. You can only apply Early Decision to one institution.”

okay, thank you very much. maybe theres still a chance

Did your MyRoc status change before you got the e-mail?

I am in Fairfield Iowa. And look kids I am NOT a good example of an average applicant who gets in. I was extremely lucky to get in with my SAT scores (high 500s).
message me if you want to know more.
