<p>I was accepted in the first ED round for BME!
SAT I: 670 Reading, 630 Math, 600 Writing (1900)
ACT: 28 cumulative
SAT II: didn’t take
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.8ish
Weighted GPA: 4.2ish
Rank: probably like top 10% (we don’t rank)
AP: none
IB: I have not taken any exams yet but I am a full IB diploma candidate
Major Awards: none besides sports ( coaches award(s) and all-conference teams) and basic honor roll awards
Extracurriculars: Cheerleading (Varsity captain in 12th grade and jv captain 10th, coaches award, went to regionals, 2nd team all-conference), Swim team (coaches award, went to regionals), orchestra (section leader 11-12th grade, accepted into district orchestra multiple times, high ratings on solo competitions), softball (jv 11th grade), soccer (jv 9-10th grade, captain in 10th), NHS, Young Republicans, Tri-M
Job/Work Experience: minimum wage job for ~3 months in the summer
Volunteer/Community service: mission trips and other misc. church activities
Summer Activities: working this past summer and mission trips each summer in addition to swim team
Essays: meaningful essay about my mission trip experience working with the poor in the Appalachian region
Teacher Recommendation: from my IB bio teacher from jr year, I think it was pretty good
Counselor Rec: I think she wrote an amazing rec
Additional Rec: n/a
State: VA
School Type: public (355 graduating class)

Gender: female
I also indicated that I want to join the NROTC program, and I’ve visited the campus before.
Moral of the story: don’t be afraid to apply to your dream school even if your stats don’t match theirs, great things may happen :smile: </p>
