Early Decision

I got accepted to an ED school, but what happens if I apply to other colleges for regular decision to see if they would offer my more financial aid?

If you want to apply to other colleges RD to try for more financial aid, you need to tell your ED school that you are turning down their offer.

If you want to accept your ED school’s offer, then you cannot apply to other schools RD, and you must withdraw any pending RD applications.

You can’t keep the ED acceptance and try for more FA during RD with other schools.

Did you sign a contract for ED indicating that, if you were accepted, you would revoke all of your other applications? This is standard practice.

@mjrube94 You can assume he/she did. OP is trying to squirm out of its terms.

OP: If you can’t afford the college, call them and ask them to release you. You’ll be doing them (and its other applicants) a great favor.

Unless you meant to say Early Action (EA), you are left with the two options SlitheyTove mentioned. You can’t have it both ways-- ED is a commitment. (And if you felt you needed to compare FA offers you should not have applied ED in the first place.)
