Early Decision

She applied in time for the ED deadline i believe her app was submitted on the 11th. The wait is hard. They only accept a limited number of students into the program

Exactly where are people checking online to see application status. Is it the prospective student link?

@melly121 http://www.rit.edu/emcs/admissions/
That is the link to sign into your account
What program is she applying to?

Ok this is where i was going. She applied to the ASL Interpreting program. Nothing so far. They said by Jan 15, but was hoping to hear before Christmas

@melly121 I was checking that page too constantly but last Friday, my daughter received an email telling her there was an update to her account page. That’s when she saw her acceptance. I do hope you get that update email soon. The waiting sucks. I think they close this week (today or tomorrow) and won’t be sending anything else out until 1/2/18. Fingers crossed!!! Btw my daughter heard from a different department. Did you read though these pages to see if anyone else heard from the ASL program?

My daughter got in ED and received $$$$ letter yesterday. Graphic Design. We are so happy!

@chicagomom29 congratulations!!! When did she get her ED? Or was it yesterday with her $$$ letter?

Thursday we received our Financial Aid information.

@NYCMomof3 Best Christmas Gift received yesterday. The college updates her admissions status and as a family we all received the good news yesterday at dinner. She was Accepted.

@melly121 congratulations!!! That is such a GREAT Christmas gift!!! I know you’ve been waiting and the wait is stressful! I am so happy for you and your daughter. I hear the ASL program is a great one. Yay!!! Now I’m waiting eagerly for the scholarship and FA info.

We received the Financial Aid Award letter today. It list a RIT Grant, Subsidized Loans and Work Study. It does not list Scholarship. Have the people that received Scholarships seen these listed on the Financial Aid Award letter or is it possibly a separate letter?

@trusted1 …same thing here. Got the FA award letter (grants and loans) in today’s mail just like you and I was wondering if that meant no scholarship

When my first son got accepted last year, it was all placed in the first letter.
RIT Presidential Scholar 13k
Unsubsidized Direct Loan 5.5k
RIT Campus Employment 2.8k
There was nothing else sent to us after that.

@reformedman thanks for your info. Two others recently received their acceptance then scholarship separate from FA…so that’s what confused me. I was under the impressions it would be three separate mailings. Maybe snice we got the FA info means she didn’t get a scholarship. We will soon find out. Thanks gain

We have received our FA award, no merit letter. I called RIT yesterday, they said merit arrived first, then FA award. Did anyone receive merit award after FA award.

@IY266 we never got merit but only FA. I just figured my daughter didn’t get a merit award since it never arrived.

We only received FA award, no merit. I called and confirmed my D did not receive merit scholarship. The financial aid office could not really explain the criteria/cut off points. We appealed giving some reasons. RIT is reviewing the appeal and will respond in 7-10 days.

Any news in the appeal?

We did hear back on the appeal. RIT congratulated us and gave a couple thousand dollars more in grant aid. No scholarship - the package still only meets about 85% of the need. The lack of enthusiasm has pushed us to lean towards other options. We will almost certainly decline the ED.

Some of RIT EDs have started to arrive. Good luck to all of them ED applicants
