I haven't been contacted about the interview either, but I don't even care anymore. I just want Dec. 15th to get here. NOW!

This board should be a place where we can go crazy about this :-) that way we don't make our friends crazy.

First of all- the Admissions office emailed me saying that they hadn't recieved my contract (on Nov. 19th, my contract was mailed on Nov. 11th, but that was veterans day ... lol so it really went out on the 12th) but my supplement was included with that and they didnt even ask about it. So im just letting you know that the admissions office is moving along.

Um, also all of my friends with Nov 1st deadlines have to wait until December 15th as well, so we lucked out and have less time to stress over it, and we had more time to get our apps together.

ahh im going crazy!!!

Iheartvassar,

I scheduled an interview with an alum online through email. Its scheduled for this saturday. You might want to approach your local alumni.

I'm getting a bit anxious for dec. 15th as well and i'm not even applying in the 1st ED round! I'm very curious as to how certain people will fare in the admissions process. I think you should be ok.

I hope I'll be ok. I should be ok as long as I don't fall over and die or have a complete mental breakdown. I actually think everyone on this thread has really good chances, but I guess we'll know for sure in a few weeks. is nervous

I was thinking about contacting my local alumni, but then I decided not to. Whatever. The ball is in their court!!!! I checked the box!!! I did my duty!!! Okay, that's enough. I swear I'm not crazy. Really.

Lol, well im glad that you forgot your contract lovegreens! At least now we know that if things are missing we should be hearing or would have heard from them already.

As for the interview, I suppose I dont care much about it anymore but Im sure it would be a help to me however small.

And hopefully Iheartvassar (whats your name?! lol we've been talking through these forums so long! im nick so you know) is right and we are all just the applicants that worry too much and will fare well come time for the commitee to meet. (Did I spell commitee correctly or is it committee? that one looks weird....ehh)

AHHHHH I LOVE that dumb school. i should have cared less! my bday is the 22nd, nick wants a nice big packet from Vassar!

My name is Elandre, I guess I haven't said that before. Trying to remain as anonymous as possible, lol.

I'm very excited about my interview. I've been corresponding with the lady for a few days now, she seems very personable.

Anyway, you have alot of things going for you (Iheartvassar), and i wish you luck. Hopefully, i'll see you in Poughkeepsie in September!

I mailed my 1st marking period grades the day after i got them, but now im worried that maybe they wont get there quickly enough. any comments?

also, i didnt actually FORGET my contract... it just didnt get there quickly enough. :-P (I just dont want to think about the probability that this will hurt my chances, so im trying to defend myself in my mind) My guess is that it arrived at vassar but had not yet been processed. I live less than 2 hours away from vassar, and the mail would not have taken 7 buisness days to get there.

I am glad everybody here is as anxious as I am. I too have been driving friends and family crazy over my damn Vassar obssession. Once again, I wish luck to everybody applying. I have just mailed my ED II application for Vassar, so I have a month longer to wait than everybody else! Darn! Well, I shall keep my fingers crossed for all of you early decisioners! By the way, my name is Brad for anybody who wants to know. If we all get into Vassar, we seriously have to meet each other in september, and start the first ever Vassar Forum Obsession Club!

You've already sent in your ED II app? Damn, I haven't even started it...

The forum obsession club lol, yea thats what we'll call it! My friend was messing around with me telling me I had to rush home to see what everyone has said on vassarhopefuls.com. We'll have to register that name. As it is, I think this thread is one of the most seen judging by the amount of views.

And I have my interview in 3 hours and I just woke up feeling a little sick. this stinx but im extremely excited

Good luck with your interview!!! You have to tell us how it went!

Interview went great! Words came out perfectly and I think my enthusiasm and what not came out really well. The interviewer was extremely nice and just a great person. I actually enjoyed my 45 minutes. I think for what the interview is worth, It will be a positive for me

congrats! I'm still sitting here... waiting. As these days of waiting have gone by, my desire to go to vassar has gotten stronger.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Has anyone heard any policy statement from the adcoms at Vassar regarding ED for this year or perhaps in coming years? The incoming class of 2003 shows a 44% ED acceptance rate and 28% for RD, or a 16% differential. The ED acceptance rate, I believe, for 2004 was 53%, but don't quote me on these numbers. I took the 2003 numbers from the USNWR 2005 guide. Given the 9% increase in the rate this year, perhaps someone on the board has heard some policy statement that you could share. Thanks for any information.

hey does anyone know whether vassar mails out acceptance letters in fat or thin envelopes?
was just wondering

Ummm well I know Wesleyan if its a rejection or deferral sends the letters out in a standard envelope. If you get accepted they send a folder, unfolded, with all the papers and a sticker for your car.

Id imagine its the same at Vassar

I wish I had applied to Wesleyan. I really liked it when I visited, it just never made my final list. :-

But, i just wanted to respond to this because I really want them (Vassar) to give us stickers for our cars!!! I mean... if we get in of course.

Yea, I sorta liked Wesleyan too but I think it may have been too liberal for me, I mean they have like 3 Vegan Cafeterias! Thats more than regular dining centers on campus. That and the students all looked a bit too crazy...? Hmm

I had my "interview" yesterday. It went fairly well; we just sat and talked for about an hour and 15 minutes. I directed the flow of the entire conversation more or less.
