Early Decision

Do chances for Cornell significantly increase ED, and is it one of those schools that really appreciates/recognizes this early committment? Also is acceptance rate higher bc of more well qualified applicants or does it also involve the committment factor to the university?

probably all of the above. another factor is that far fewer apply ED than RD, and they typically have a quota for how many of each they can accept. e.g. if they had 10 seats for ED and 30 for RD, and only 20-25 apply ED and 150 apply RD, of course the rates are going to be significantly different. it says nothing about the quality of the applicants, however.

bumpppp....

yeah...i think it is 36 percent of the incoming class of 2011 was formed from ED...so it is large.

also, if you think of it this way, if professors are reviewing applications (which they usually are) then they will be a little biased towards kids that REALLY want to go to cornell...
