If you're applying to schools early, can you send the application before all of your testing is complete? In other words, I plan to finish the testing by November, but can I mail the application earlier?

Thank you so much!

If you're applying to schools early, can you send the application before all of your testing is complete? In other words, I plan to finish the testing by November, but can I mail the application earlier?

Thank you so much!

Yes you can. Depending on the school, though, they may or may not look at your scores from November so be sure to have all the minimum testing requirements done by then.

You can always send the application before you send test scores. If what you are talking about is applying early action or early decision, each college has a prescribed deadline for the application (most in November, either the first or the 15th) and provides on-line the last testing date it accepts for EA or ED. All EA and ED colleges with a November app deadline accept test scores from October tests even if they arrive somewhat after app deadline. Most of those also accept November tests even if taken after the app deadline, although a number of those limit that to SAT IIs. As to any particular college, you should check with the college to see the last testing date it accepts for EA or ED.

As to regular admission, the colleges also publish last testing date accepted, which is usually the same for SAT and SAT IIs. Many with a January deadline accept only through December test date but many do accept January tests. The UCs, which usually have a November 30 app deadline, accept through the December test date.
