Early Decision

If November 6, 2006 is the last test date on which SAT I or SAT II Subject Tests may be taken for Single-Choice Early Action consideration at Yale and at this point I need to take the SAT and 3 required SAT II tests is there a way I can fit in all those tests if the last testing date is Nov 6?

You have three test dates left: June, October and November, so it's possible for you to take the SAT and 3 SAT II's by then. Have you not taken any SAT exams yet? I would recommend that this June, you take SAT II tests that corrospond with your classes in school. That way, you have a couple months to prep for the SAT I in October, and more SAT II's in November, if necessary. Also, if you aren't satisfied with your October SAT I score, then you can switch from SCEA to RD and take the December or possibly even the January exam.

also, w/ most colleges, if i take the ACT that means i dont have to take any SAT ii's , making the ACT the only test i need right?

...or could i take the sat and then take the act in lieu of the sat ii's?

No, from what I know for most colleges, it's either ACT or SAT I + SAT II. Now that might have changed for the new SATs, but that was usually the case on this year's (Class of 2009) admissions.
