I am extremely interested in applying to Barnard and am considering applying ED.

Does it help my chances of admission if I apply early?

Also, does anyone know the admission rate differences for ED vs. RD?

ED definitely improves chances. regular acceptance rate was 26.9% and I think ED acceptance rate was around 40% or so, but the number are on the website. 4 girls from my school (including myself) were accepted ED and only one girl was accepted regular (she is going to Princeton in the fall.)

I believe that ED is binding at Barnard, though, so be sure the finances are not a problem....

ED is binding everywhere, unlike EA. Be very careful about your finances if you apply ED. Fwiw, ED is yet another way that the system is jiggered in favor of the affluent.

Barnard is fairly clear about their fin aid policies - unusual for most colleges.
