Early Decision

Would it be better to apply ED with a lower GPA or RD with a slightly higher GPA?

ED with slightly lower GPA

bump ??? (:

same as chendrix. go ED. good luck

Okay, thank you!

Depends on how low. At my school the cutoff for ED is around 92-93 varying by college.

Pointless dilemma. You’re likely to receive the same decision regardless of whether you apply ED or RD, except in the event of significant changes to your application. By your own admission, any GPA difference is likely to be slight and I believe it will not make an appreciable difference to your outcome.

On a logical level, it’s pretty ‘interesting’ that you’re considering making a binding commitment - via ED - to a college that your question presupposes to be rather petty in its admissions practices (and by extension, rather dubious in the composition of its freshman class).

Maintain some faith in the holistic admissions process in place at Cornell. I’ve always maintained this: the only reason you should apply ED is if you are convinced that a college is your unequivocal first choice. The fact that you’re asking this question is reason enough for me to question if this is the case in your instance.
