can transfer student apply for early decision?? i had read couple discussion before about this, but they're all from the west cost, and i live in the east cost, thanks

Early decision is for first years at all of the competitive colleges I know of. At most colleges, transfers are usually taking the place of admitted students who didn't matriculate and matriculated students who have left the college, so there isn't an early option for us.

i think at most schools its only for first years. University of chicago is the only one I've seen that has something like early decision. it's called early alternative. its not binding but you do get your admissions decision before regular applicants.

That's cool. I wish other colleges would see the light and offer something similar. There are a lot of transfer applicants who are really enthusiatic about a particular college and there's really no way for colleges to know that besides trying to guess from the applications.
