OK I'm not an expert at this cllege applying stuff so i need ur help with these three questions....

1) Is it true that u cann apply early decision to only one institution?
2) Is it true that applying thru early decision raises ur chances of getting into the college or is it harder because the pool of applicants are more competitive?
3) What is the difference b/w early action and regular decision??

yes- you can't have binding agreements with 2 schools

most likely- it probably varies from school to school but many early decision admit rates higher due in part to the 100% yield rate

Early action only has your transcript up to the end of junior year, regular decision goes up to the end of your 1st senior semester

2a) and the downside of applying early Decision is that you're bound to accept their offer and you're vying for the slot based upon your 1st 3 years' of HS scholarship -- you can't compare other financial aid offers

It's generally only advisable if a) you can afford the school regardless of FA package is generally offered and b) you truly know that it's your number one choice. If both of these criteria are met, then by all means -- go ahead and apply ED. The fact is, the other ED applicants are stating loudly that they will attend regardless of FA package and that the school in question IS their NUMBER ONE CHOICE.

1) you can only apply ED to one place because it's binding. (you can still apply EA wherever you want)
2)typically it is easier to get in ED because the school knows you will come if they accept you and it makes their yeild easier to calculate. they want to accept someone who really wants to go to their school. usually an ED pool is a littl bit weaker than regular because a lot of people use it to try and boost their chances wheras otherwise they wouldnt get in.
3) early action just lets you apply and know if you are accepted or not earlier in the year. you still have until may to decide to go or not though. (yeah, it doesn't really make sense for colleges to have EA.)
hope that helps!!!
