Hey, speaking of Yale EA deferrals...I'm one, too, and also got a "likely" from Wellesley. I'm curious now. Where else did you guys apply? I applied to Stanford, Smith, and Mt Holyoke, in addition to Yale and Wellesley.

Other than Yale and Wellesley, I applied to:

deep breath

Macalester, Amherst, Bowdoin, Harvard, University of Illinois, Northwestern, and Skidmore.

collapses

I know, I know, they are all really different, and I applied to a lot of schools, and so on, and so on. :)

haha! me too!

I applied to a grand total of eleven schools. So far, I've only met one person that managed to beat me in that department. Needless to say, November and December were not much fun for me...

I applied to:

Columbia, University of Michigan, University of Illinois, Wellesley, University of North Carolina, Dartmouth, NYU, Williams, Amherst, Penn, Brown.

Aghh.

Harvard, Yale, Amherst, Bowdoin, Brown, UCLA/UCSD/UCI

We all seem to be interested in a broad scope of schools, but name generally the same schools! Very strange.

my friend applied to 16. last year, my cousin applied to 22. i think my parents were relieved when i came out wit 10.

i applied to: wellesley, bryn mawr, wesleyan, tufts, brown, stanford, BU, NYU, pomona, swarthmore

Nine for me:
Yale, Wellesley, Harvard, Tulane, UC-Berkeley, UChicago, Cornell, Dartmouth, Princeton

So far I've been accepted to Wellesley (well likely) and Tuland

I know that doesn't sound like a logical list given that those schools are all totally different, but at this point I'd like to keep my options open.

I applied to, along with Wellesley (likely): Bowdoin, Middlebury, Grinnell, Swarthmore (deferred), Scripps, Smith, Bryn Mawr, Mt. Holyoke, Haverford, Tufts, UCB, Stanford, and Harvard.

I got my early acceptance letter from Grinnell this week! I have only visited two of these so far, so I could have the possibility of more than a couple Open Campus trips come April.

Hey, odd question. This may be obvious, but, if you are getting congratulations e-mails from Wellesley on your "positive early evaluation", does this mean you got a "likely"? You see, my family uses a P.O. Box for mail, but I haven't gotten my mail in over a week because my parents are recently separated (though they still use the same P.O. Box), I live with my dad, and my mom has been getting the mail and keeping it in her car (I won't get it until I see her this weekend and she's oblivious to Wellesley)?
Thanks!

ninnykins-
if you've been getting a couple of congrats e-mails mentioning your "positive Early Evaluation," then that means you got a likely! Congrats!

I also got a likely and I've been getting e-mails with the same wording.

I have a feeling I'm going to have to do that as well over spring break. Even though I visited all the campuses of the schools I applied to over summer, I think I might visit the campuses again just so I can get a feel for them again and just to cement my impressions.

I think visiting the colleges when school is in session with regular students, not summer program people, is very helpful. I've seen several campuses during both Summer and Spring....it can make a big difference in how the campus feels.

i'm definitely visiting over spring break. after seeing the campus in so many mediums, it'll be nice to see it myself.

High five toffee, I'm going during spring break also! Perhaps I will see you there. I can't wait to see Wellesley, Lake Waban, Wendy's...sigh maybe I will get to go to a Harvard/MIT party also...

Thanks! I think I'm going during the Open House. I am kind of REALLY PEE IN MY PANTS EXCITED. Wellesley is so gorgeous and I've just been looking at all these Wellesley girls' blogs and I really can't wait.

Haha, sounds like a good kind of excited! :-) When is the Open House exactly?

Apr 24 and 25...

I'll be skipping so much school in April since my school's spring break doesn't coincide with ANY colleges' open house. oh darn...

me too. all of the open houses for the colleges i applied to are the week after my spring break.

Aye yi yi, embrace the opportunity to miss school, girls!
