Hi,

I am a GATech 2015 hopeful, but I'm slightly confused about its Early programs

It says on the Admission Deadline page that it is an "Early Action" in the table
However, with a brief search on the site, a page came out with "Early Notification" as the name.

I am worried if I could apply to GATech early, as I am going to apply to an SCEA program as well.

Thanks!

Georgia Tech’s Early Notification is not binding, so I would assume you can apply to both. Tech does not have an early action or early decision program.

The only other ‘early’ it mentioned was early admission, which refers to a program where some juniors skip senior year and go straight to college.

What you want to do is apply early notification, which is not binding.

Alright, thanks for clarifying!!

Hi,
Does the early notification help with admissions decisions? Or is it just for the applicant’s peace of mind or something?

Thanks.

Have anyone here started on his/her tech application yet? I couldn’t seem to start mine, even after I created an account. Perhaps I should wait like two or more business days.

Yea I started mine, but it was like a year ago, but GT has to update the app because mine was updated 2 days ago to fit the one for this year. Good luck to everyone applying!

UPDATE

I asked this question on the official forum, and the admission officer states that the Early Action program offered in Georgia Tech is NOT compatible with SCEA programs.

So… yeah. I hope this’ll be of some help to some of you.

The reason it isn’t compatible with SCEA programs has nothing to do with Tech, but with the SCEA school.

Let’s say you apply to Harvard SCEA and GT Early Notification. That would be a violation of Harvard’s SCEA agreement (to apply Harvard SCEA, you agree to not apply anywhere else until the Harvard decision is made). It would not matter to GT.
