Just curious Sillylilybajilly, if you already have everything in why do you want to change. EN isn’t a binding acceptance.

Tyler, do any EN applicants receive notice before Feb 15th?
My son is already receiving acceptance and scholarship offers from rolling decision colleges and will receive notification including any merit scholarships from EA colleges around Dec 15th.
He received the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award so is eligible for that scholarship at UR.
My concern is the acceptances and sholarships will cause him to start leaning towards one of those colleges before he even hears from UR (it is natural for a 17 yr old to start to like a school that has accepted them and offered them a scholaship).

onecot59,

Thanks for your question… As of right now I am unaware of any official plans to send out EN decisions prior to February 15th. However, it does make sense that colleges would want to admit students ASAP, and I think Rochester should too!

I’ll let the College Confidential world know if we decide to release a wave of EN admits prior to February 15th. As of today, do not plan on hearing from the University of Rochester before that date.

Tyler, thanks for the response. Will continue to check the post for any updates.

Tyler,

I checked the Early Notification boxes on both Part I and Part II of my application (it’s now been submitted into the CommonApp void), but, due to a processing error, my school may not be able to get all application materials in by the December 1 deadline. Will this hurt my chances, or can I (hopefully) be moved to the Regular Decision process with no penalty if my transcript and test scores do indeed arrive late?

Thanks!
Concerned Applicant

If you checked the EN box on the University of Rochester Supplement AND if all application materials are postmarked by December 1st, you will be considered for “Early Notification”. If any of your application materials are sent after December 1st, you will be automatically moved to the Regular Decision pool (with no penalty). This will not hurt your admissions chances.

We might be a little lenient… If your scores / transcript arrive a few days late you may still be captured in the “Early Notification pool”, but this is not a promise. The only way that we can guarantee to review you as an EN applicant is to ensure that all application materials are submitted by December 1st. Best of luck!!!
