Just curious, has anyone who may have applied under the Early Notification program gotten a decision letter yet? If so - how long did it take? The literature says "....in as little as 2 weeks...." (which, I guess, means....nothing). We're going on 3 weeks and wondering if anyone else has anything to share.

Prospective full-time freshmen who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement at the secondary school level will be considered for academic scholarships of up to full tuition at the time of admission to the University. Award eligibility is contingent upon the timeliness of your application for admission, your high school academic record, test scores, resident/commuter status, and the availability of scholarship funds. Academic scholarships are awarded for four years providing that renewal criteria are met.

National Honors Scholarship - Recipients are selected from those students who have been awarded the Regents’ Scholarship. The award is combined with the Regents’ Scholarship to equal full-time tuition each academic year.

Regents’ Scholarship - Awarded at up to $17,000 per academic year.
The typical profile of incoming freshmen who may qualify for this award is a class rank in the top 10% of their high school class with combined Critical Reading and Math SAT scores of 1270 (28 ACT) or higher.

President’s Scholarship - Awarded at up to $15,000 per academic year.
The typical profile of incoming freshmen who may qualify for this award is a class rank in the top half of their high school class with combined Critical Reading and Math SAT scores of 1140 (25 ACT) or higher.

Pre-Medical Professions Scholarship - Awarded at up to $15,000 per academic year.

These awards are renewable (up to an aggregate total of four years), provided the student maintains continuous full-time status and a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (3.25 for National Honors Scholarship recipients). Failure to meet renewal criteria will result in the loss of the scholarship.

Scholarship Guidelines:

•Scholarships are renewable each academic year (up to an aggregate total of four years), provided you maintain full-time enrollment status, a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and satisfactory academic progress.
•Students who do not meet the renewal criteria will forfeit the scholarship for the remainder of their enrollment at the University. The scholarship will not be reinstated should the student regain the required cumulative GPA at a later date.
•Financial need is not a factor in determining eligibility for these scholarships.
•An academic scholarship may not be combined with any other non-need based scholarship from the University, but may be combined with other funds to meet your demonstrated financial need.
•Academic scholarships are awarded to citizens or permanent residents of the United States. For information about scholarships for international students, please refer to the International Student Prospectus.
•Students enrolled in The Hartt School are ineligible for academic scholarships (See Talent Scholarships for more information regarding scholarships for Hartt School students).

S was awarded the presidential scholarship, 13.5k, he’s around a 3.0 (unweighted, but with plenty of Honors/AP classes) with SAT’s of around 1250 (CR/Math). We’re really pleased.

Congrats JustaMom and Son! Hope we’ll see you there next year!

Hello everyone- My son was accepted into The Hartt School of Music (early action). He is thrilled. It is has been his goal for a very long time. They mentioned that he will be considered for a scholarship but we won’t hear about that until March. We are hoping for something Do you know how this is figured out ? Hartt was his # 1 choice since the Jazz Studies concentration is a component of the Music Recording Technology major.

Does anyone know about the student’s accessibility of getting into the town of West Hartford from campus ?

Congratulations, psualum and son! Last year, D3 did the December audition and had to wait until March to find out about scholarships. It turned out to be worth the wait.

For getting into town, the school runs shuttle buses to various points of interest. D has been to the mall, West Hartford Center, the movies, pharmacy etc via shuttle with no issues. Many people have cars on campus (although the pricing discourages first year students from bringing a car), and it’s pretty easy to get a ride from a friend.
