Early notification?

I was reading threads from last year, and I noticed that some people recieved e-mails in February notifying them that they were accepted into UCI. This is interesting because the offical announcements weren't supposed to be until March.

Can anyone shed some insight into this? Were the people that were notified early special in any way? Because I recieved an early e-mail from UCR also letting me know that I got in early also.

UC Irvine releases decisions in batches. Its not necessarily early or special notification, they just release the decisions bit by bit all the way up until the last day of March (yes, people did get decisions that late).

I got my decision early when they told me I got a scholarship at uci. They tell all regents and chancellors admits like early feb (dont remember exactly, maybe late feb)

Last year, dealine was March 31. But many people got decision many days after that. I was one of them.....

UCI is not known to have an early decisions process. Regents, chancellors, or any other big scholarship winners are notified early of their admittance. In addition, during my year as I remember, students who got admitted directly into UCs due to ELC got notified at a different time from normal decisions. Good luck everyone!

"Award notifications will be sent out to freshman recipients in early March."

from UCI website:<a href="http://www.ofas.uci.edu/content/TypesOfAid.aspx?nav=1&id=regents%5B/url%5D">http://www.ofas.uci.edu/content/TypesOfAid.aspx?nav=1&id=regents</a></p>

No honor though. Where is my honor college offer?
I guess I am just a regular Joe at UCI.
