Early reading

Hi,
I have been recluted by my coach at Bowdoin. My GPA is 3.9 and I am in the 15% of class rank. I am not presenting tests scores.
My questions:
(1) How long does it take to hear about early reading?
(2) In which band would I likely be? Need a tip from the coach?

Coach will need test scores to complete pre-read even though school is test optional for application. No way to determine band without scores.

My understanding is that the early read happens quickly, with some learning their fate in July (of the year in which they would apply ED). Your band will depend in part on your skills at your sport, with C-band slots reserved for early impact athletes.

Thanks, Torasee and ReallyOk for your answers.

Not 100% sure on this but you should hear quickly on the early read once you have submitted your data if the coach wants you. If you look at the lacrosse “recruits” database, there are something like 6 “commitments” listed already for Bowdoin and a similar number of names for each of the other NESCACs.

Yes, but those recruits are for the 2015 team. I am being recruited for the 2016 team.

Do you mean the 2017 team? A recruit for the 2016 team would be applying this fall . . My understanding is that, by NESCAC rule or agreement, a pre-read or early read cannot be obtained from the admissions department before July 1 of the year in which you would be applying . And that GPA and SAT or ACT scores are required for the pre-read process even though test scores will not be required for the actual application. .
